Bryan Black (a.k.a. Black Asteroid) releases his album Thrust, on Last Gang Records.
Obsessed with sound and graphic design, Bryan Black started his music career as a sound designer and keyboard tech for PRINCE at PAISLEY PARK STUDIOS. While working for Prince, Black proceeded to create his own music- some of the most alien techno records released on labels such as Mute and Kompakt.
In 2011 after years of recording and touring with MOTOR, Bryan wrote “Engine 1” to start a new chapter- returning to his techno roots in the boldest possible way. Black Asteroid set about making techno from a new perspective, in a traditional song structure format.
The fashion designer RICK OWENS picked up on what was happening, and used Black’s music for his runway shows in Paris. The two quickly became friends and collaborators. Their next collaboration comes in the form of the debut album from Black Asteroid, Thrust.
Black worked with Rick Owens, to put together the album's artwork, and Owens' wife Michele Lamy provided vocals for one cut, "Tangiers," which is being released as a single with a remix from Headless Horseman. Cold Cave and Zola Jesus also feature as vocal collaborators on the ten-track record. The first single from the album was "Howl feat. Zola Jesus" and was released to great critical acclaim earlier this year.
It is a remarkable stage from the 90's, but come full force into the modern era ,reminiscent of parties and home treachery adding to the indulgence of party favors. Moderate use and fantastic dance raves! cliffy9
